Digital Image Journal Quilt

This is one of my digital images printed on my preferred fabric (see earlier post) and quilted.  The arms and fingers are heavily stitched because the fabric wasn't taut enough without it and this aided in shrinking the area a bit so it feels firm -- not 'mushy'. Its interesting to see a digital creation in fabric form.  The medium has an effect on the piece.  I'm still figuring out what I think about that, but I observe that it is different. Looking at the piece, I'm thinking I could have quite a show, if I did a quilt version of each one of the digital images I've done over the last year! Prints on Fabric

I've printed one of my digital images on two different fabrics for printers.  The print on the left is on 100% Cotton Poplin by Color Textiles Inc.  The print on the right is on Premium Cotton Satin Inkjet Fabric Sheets by EQ Printables. Each print was left to dry overnight and it was probably 24 hours before I washed them.  The printing on the Color Textiles wasn't as vivid as the EQ Printables fabric.  Also, after washing, there was a slight noticeable muddying of the color on the Color Textiles fabric unlike the EQ Printables fabric.  I'm more satisfied with the latter, even though I'm going to continue experimenting. Has anyone had similar or different experiences?  If you'd care to share your knowledge, please consider making a comment!

New Photoshop Play!

Since yesterday, I reworked a couple things from the original version (original is on the bottom).  See the differences?  Overall, does the image look better?

Wacom Tablet Tip

If using the pen/brush tool in Photoshop to write, my Bamboo Fun doesn't allow the tablet's reorientation so that I can write at my normal slant (which happens to be vertical (toward me)).  What I've come up with is an idea for mitigating that...to orient the page in Photoshop 90 degrees clockwise, and when I'm done ~~ moving it back (or 90 degrees counter-clockwise). For those of you with a less prominent slant when you write, how do you handle this in any writing you do via a writing tablet?

Doodling today...didn't work

I've been working on this for a few hours and am going to leave it be for now.  I was trying to figure out how to do a reverse erase in Photoshop (to make some outlines of the top layer solid), but I got an error message that there was no history layer in order to do it.  So, this hasn't turned out the way I wanted it to.

New Photoshop Play!

I used one altered photograph for the background in this piece!  This post also linked to  http://ninamariesayre.blogspot.com ..

Photo Collage with Digital Manipulation

I didn't set out to come up with this image.  What I did was chose three of my own photos, cropped them, applied filters and then combined them.  In addition, I used some of the other photo-editing tools like color dodge, etc.  I'm liking this!

Another new weekend digital art piece!

I've reworked this piece today.  I wasn't completely satisfied with the original version.  So, this one has edits to the right eye, lips, background and handkerchief in the left hand.  Thoughts? This post also linked to  http://ninamariesayre.blogspot.com ..

Newest Digital Art Work!

This is titled "Dreaming", and it uses elements of seven altered photographs.  Can you figure out where the photographic elements are? This post also linked to  http://ninamariesayre.blogspot.com ..
