Second Effort on Affirmation Feather Project

What I'm learning through this project in particular is to pay attention to the type of pen/marking tool you use.  Its important to know what effect you want, and then choose a water-soluble or permanent marker/pen based on the desired effect! Life Book 2015 - Behind, but working!

This is Week 4's project and took me 6-8 hours to complete (including the sketching).  It didn't come out exactly as I'd hoped, but I went sort of 'rogue' on the suggested body position of the ballerina figure.  This one works, but I'd change some things if I tried this one again.  In any case, I learned some things including you can use gesso to paint and it mixes with gouache well.  I also learned that little doodles and patterns can turn something plan into something enchanting.  The whole point to these projects is to learn the medium, get used to using new tools, and to have fun being regularly creative!   This piece was created through a class offered by Tamara Laporte from Willing Arts Ltd. LifeBook 2015 - 3 Project Behind...Already!

Tonight, I've been trying to catch up on some of the instructional videos about projects to be done for LifeBook 2015 (if I choose to do them).  As this post's subject line says...I'm behind...and by four projects.  That means a lot of work.  The four projects include a: 1.  Whimsical floral (which the pictured sketch is for; one of three done tonight) 2.  Collaged/Painted Ballerina 3.  Dreamcatcher 4.  Feather My ballerina has been drawn (just as the sketch for the whimsical floral), though I can't transfer it to watercolor paper--will have to free-hand re-draw it.  The ideas are brewing, its just starting these projects and getting them done.  Wish me luck!

Lifebook 2015 - Celebration Jar!

I've set my intentions for the year, and to remind myself of all my accomplishments throughout the year -- I'm going to fill this CELEBRATION JAR with messages to a future self (who I am on January 1, 2016)! Let the celebration and gratefulness begin! This piece was created through a class offered by Tamara Laporte from Willing Arts Ltd. For more information, visit this link:  www.willowing.org .
