Fast Friday Fabric Challenge #79...done!

The March theme is infinite possibilities.  My challenge response is titled 'Snail Flower'. This post also linked to  http://ninamariesayre.blogspot.com .

Just Finished!

I started this piece without any challenge in mind and just completed it.  The color palette is quite subdued (for me) but I like it.  The piece is an interpretation of an indoor ice rink lighted by different colored spots and a wild and beautiful pattern (almost like a stencil that covered the lighting as it streamed down upon the rink).  In addition, the white stands for the actual spot lights that would follow the skater over the ice.  There is some silver stitching in the piece (hard to see) to represent the marks left by a skater's program.

New Project in Progress

I'm working on a new project with multiple layers and shapes of different colored organzas.  It is an interpretation of lighting on an ice rink...from a show I recently saw.  There is a lot more stitching to do, but I like how its coming along.  I'm learning organzas are not easy to work with especially when you layer them and have overlaid edges.  The fabric also tends to ravel easily. Altered Photo to celebrate Off-the-Wall-Friday!

This is an altered photo of an original that has been flipped vertically and horizontally (4 images in this final version).  The original photo is of a very light Art Deco design on a stucco wall.   Off-the-Wall-Friday visitors, I welcome your comments!
