Life Book 15 - Week 34

Another Life Book 2015 lesson...this one to create an image of a female Goddess/Muse based on a description that calls to us.  I chose the Goddess Morrigan because her description intrigued me.  She was known as the Crow Goddess, and queen of phantoms and shape-shifters. This image aptly reflects a kind of shape-shifting quality.  The background I started was quite bright and purplish, and there were drips of metallic paint that suggest tears and/or braids in the final image, depending on how you look at it.  The crow image was the first one to be completed, then the wings were painted, followed by the face.  What I like about this is the color study (creating a bit of translucence with paint color) and the sense of dimension! This piece was created through a class offered by Tamara Laporte from Willowing Arts Ltd. For more information, visit this link:  www.willowing.org .

Life Book 2015 - Week 32 Project

Tamara taught this past week's lesson titled 'You Are Wise'.  She led everyone through her process with a step-by-step video.  Not that we all created replicas of her work, but we did use her lesson as a jumping off point in creating our own.  As part of this teaching, Tamara invites everyone to work with personal transformation activities in conjunction with the art.  I like doing the latter and it is one of the reasons I signed up for her year-long class aside from really liking her energy. Above is the photo of my girl flying over a planet of my limiting beliefs.  She is wise! This piece was created through a class offered by Tamara Laporte from Willing Arts Ltd. Artisan State Flatbook - Great promo offer!

This is the completed flat book printed through Artisan State as part of a current promotional offer ($5 for the book plus $5 for shipping).  The quality of the book is superb, and I've had many compliments on it already! What I like about it is the thickness of the pages, the luster of the paper, and the true-to-image printing.  The software to put it together is similar to Blurb's. I highly recommend giving Artisan State a try...either for a short portfolio book (20 pages max. through the offer) or for a nice family photo memento album!

Life Book 2015 - Week 31 Project

This is Week 31's project which was an assignment to create a Hamsa with a magazine eye over a sky watercolor background. Mine is a bit different take on the assignment which I quite enjoyed--also relaxing. The lesson was created and presented by Rachel Rice, one of the Life Book 2015 guest instructors. Thank you Rachel!
