A Little Art Journal Page

This page was created with acrylic paints, collaged papers, gold metallic pen, Posca Pens, and Stickles glitter glues. It was fun to see it come together and looks a bit like a fish to me.

Loneliness and Artists

This is an interesting article about loneliness and the fact that it is increasing across age groups and is being seen across the world.  After reading it, I started wondering... Artists typically work alone to create their works (writers, composers, etc. too).  The article consequently suggests that we may have to work even harder to maintain a relevant community that surrrounds us -- so that art-making doesn't become an additional 'cause' for the experience of loneliness. Welcoming 2019!

Its the new year, and I've been watching the Doctor Who marathon on BBC the entire day...much better than news stations (year in review programs) and the fact that I'm not nearly as interested in college football as I once was (when the Rose Bowl was actually the championship game rather than all the bowl games that have come since that time and the College Football Playoff which is now another one).  Oh, well.  It leaves marvelous time for making art. I started the piece in the photo last night and worked on it beyond midnight, then finished it up today.  I call it 'Wearing My Wild', and that seems like such a great intention for 2019!!  Also, thank you to my dear husband for his critique on a couple things--that I invited--before it was completed.  I really do appreciate your creative eye hon! This project was fun, and I'm so glad to have completed a piece on New Year's Day especially since I haven't signed up for a year-long art class in 2019.  So all
