This is yesterday's effort--a mechanical pencil drawing based on Botticelli's "Fortitude" from 1470. I've used echo lines to render the hair style plus added a watercolor wash for background and slight white Posca pen lines around the pupils as highlights.
I thought the angle of the face in the painting would make it hard to draw. But it came out pretty well without much adjustment to the face shape. Most adjustments were made to the eyes.
This basket was made in Jane Hall's half-day course at IQF 2014. The greatest amount of time involved in making it--was cutting and sewing the strips together. Otherwise, it went together easily and quickly (3 hours). These baskets are a great holiday gifting idea that you can match to family and friends' home decoration color schemes. They're fun and useful besides.
