This is an opinion piece I never expected to read and authored by David Brooks, an Opinion Columnist with The New York Times. It's about who influences who in the arts, and how creatives/people become their real selves.
I find this a very introspective article by Mr. Brooks and interesting. It echos guidance I've heard from a number of creatives/instructors in the arts--Austin Kleon, Ardith Goodwin, and Louise Fletcher--to name a few.
