What do you do with that extra acrylic paint left on your palette after a paint session? Do you let it harden, and then peel the remnants off and throw them away? If you work them into new art, I'd love to see what you do.
Most of the time, I paint my surplus acrylic paint on a separate sheet of paper. I work on that paper to create something new and different with whatever is there. Pencil, markers, chalk, crayon, ink, and collage bits, etc. may be added. Hopefully, there is a point when I feel a piece is completed. As for today's piece, it is abstract with many of the additions mentioned. It feels done, and I like it. So, it now moves to its new home...my sketchbook.
What do I like about it? I like the color combination, the piece has an aliveness to it (to me, that is), the dots enhance it, and some of the collage bits are not noticeable though pull a lot of weight. That said, you can't see the reflective bits that are painted metallic tape and that add a nice zing to it.
