Making Something from Palette Paint Leftovers

What do you do with that extra acrylic paint left on your palette after a paint session? Do you let it harden, and then peel the remnants off and throw them away? If you work them into new art, I'd love to see what you do.

Most of the time, I paint my surplus acrylic paint on a separate sheet of paper. I work on that paper to create something new and different with whatever is there. Pencil, markers, chalk, crayon, ink, and collage bits, etc. may be added. Hopefully, there is a point when I feel a piece is completed. As for today's piece, it is abstract with many of the additions mentioned. It feels done, and I like it. So, it now moves to its new home...my sketchbook.

What do I like about it? I like the color combination, the piece has an aliveness to it (to me, that is), the dots enhance it, and some of the collage bits are not noticeable though pull a lot of weight. That said, you can't see the reflective bits that are painted metallic tape and that add a nice zing to it.

Movie Review: Four Hands, Two Sonatas

Netflix has been advertising this limited Korean series recently added to the site's line-up. The title peaked my interest. So, I started watching it with no expectation other than knowing it was about two pianists. I really liked how this Korean production was dubbed in English. The English speakers (voice sound/tone/character) were terrifically cast as well as the timing of the spoken words' consistency with the mouthing of the Korean actors on-screen dialogue. This series' storyline has a number of facets: bullying, wealth vs poverty and access to arts training, musicianship, stage fright, competition, friendship, rivalry, sabotage, lack of confidence, revenge, etc. The music is primarily classical and is lovely. New Project in Progress

I'm working on a new project with multiple layers and shapes of different colored organzas. It is an interpretation of lighting on an ice rink...from a show I recently saw. There is a lot more stitching to do, but I like how its coming along. I'm learning organzas are not easy to work with especially when you layer them and have overlaid edges.
